Color sketch of a swamp with a giant tree and what I imagine to be a pub as well as a couple trading outpost type buildings. Nothing is all that defined so far, just designing the boat right now, and then I'll do a clearer design for the pub and buildings.
Also trying to decide if I should do a closer shot like the second one posted here.

i guess it depends on the focus of the piece. if you want to show off the boat, then i'd go with a closer shot. i also remember some blog saying that a flatter comp. is for a more comical/neutral emotion while a shot with more depth is used to create drama/action so that might factor into what emotion you want your piece to have, too.
