Giraffe
I went to the zoo today and drew. But I don't have a scanner here, so I drew this giraffe in Painter.

Tarzan
Supposed to be studying for geology. Ended up drawing Tarzan. These were like... one minute drawings. If that.
His legs looked a little girly to me here, so I put hair on 'em.

Fighting a jaguar.

Something's going on below the trees, whaa?

I'm afraid it's probably painfully obvious that all my knowledge of Tarzan comes from Disney. Oh dear.

It's a Jungle Out There
I won't apologize for my cheesy post title. I seem to be all about the jungles lately. If these images look a little grey, my big monitor seems to have a green cast to it. Or maybe my laptop has a grey cast.

This one is for the animajors blog. The prompt was "She rarely moved unless the handle turned. Then she struck like lightning." It was a bit of an experiment for me.

No jungles here. I think I've been looking at Yacin's storyboards too much. I want to be that cool.

And a close-up which I think I like better.

Blue Forest
Monster in a blue forest. The first one looks right on my big NEC monitor, the second looks right on my little powerbook monitor. The upside of this dual monitor setup is that I can test what colors look like on different monitors, the downside is that then I want it to look the same on all monitors.

Sketchbookery
I started drawing this today while I was watching TV. I think I've perhaps been looking at Shaun Tan's "The Arrival" too much. Nevermind. You can never look at that book too much. I think I'd like to make a story out of this.

Here are some bats. I was looking at slow motion film of bats flying the other day, and then this came out while I was sitting in class. It's really amazing the way their wings move. Apparently, something about the leading edge of their wing allows them to flap much slower (and stay aloft) than scientists expected. Pretty cool stuff.

And here are just a bunch of random in class drawings. My sense of humor goes weird places when I'm bored. Mostly to chickens, I've noticed.

An Eagle
Sometimes I'm animating and I need a break so I open up a new file and just start playing around. This time I was wondering if fills in Flash go "behind" the lines, so that if you take away the lines, you're left with just the colors. It works, but I don't know how to just select lines, so I had to select each one individually and delete it. I'm hoping toonboom can also fill all the way behind the lines so that you can delete the lines and just have color - I like the idea of having the color separate from the line art in case I need to make adjustments. Anyway, this is an eagle I did in Flash. This was quite the ramble for a blog that almost no one reads. :D
